The summer sun seems to be sticking around Victoria this time.. FINALLY! Which means some serious beach time, camping, hiking and of course, crafting. With all of these fun activities, there is always music involved.
We haven't shared a music post in awhile, so to kick-off the summer months, here are a few of our favorite picks right now!
Hayley:
*Siiiiigh Summer* Oh how I have missed you!
It seems around this time, everyone is looking for 'that song' to be their summer theme, and I think I've found mine.
This year, I seem to be listening to Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, like ALOT. Oh please.. who isn't. I think this song is so great, I even used it in my wedding for the Bouquet and Garter toss! The beat is simple, the lyrics are silly, but man does it GET THE PEOPLE GOING!
Cindy:
Summertime means festival time! And Victoria has an abundance of events to attend. Stephanie's favourite of the summer festivities happens to be Jazz Fest so us gals went last weekend to catch some afternoon rays and listen to local talent. I was excited to come across a singer/songwriter, Scotty Hills. Soulful, laid-back, and beachy... my kind of music!
The sound isn't the best quality in this video but hopefully you enjoy this song as much as I do.
Stephanie:
So last month my husband and I watched the documentary "Searching for Sugar Man" and I was absolutely blown away. What a story! Immediately I was taken with the music and this whole album has been on repeat at my house since. We are heading out for a two week road trip next week to head to my brother-in-law's wedding, and this album will be perfect road trip music.
If you have not yet seen this documentary.... you MUST watch it. It is the most unbelievable true story you will ever hear!
What is your summer jam?
I've been so obsessed with this blurred lines song!... I mean if you consider listening to it multiple times a day obsessed..
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these songs! I like all of them! Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThat Sugar Man soundtrack sounds amazing - hadn't heard of it yet! And that photo of you all is really cute :-)
ReplyDeleteI saw the video for blurred lines before I knew the song was popular. I seriously couldn't tell if it was a joke or not!! There are sheep in it! Anyway, I'm so uncool. Now I realize that it's a huge hit :).
