meet.make.lavender lemonade cocktail.

Welcome to the Summer of the Mocktail!

Not all drinks need alcohol to be refreshing on a beautiful summers day. Sans alcohol or with a bit of Prosecco, after one of these lavender lemonades you'll be lip smacking and asking for more!

Coming to a lemonade stand near you...

We started with this recipe from Joy the Baker, then added our own spin on it by adding in lemon zest and raspberries.

Ingredients:
6 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
3 heaping tablespoons culinary lavender
2 cups fresh lemon juice (approximately 8 lemons)
Lemon zest
Fresh raspberries

Heat 2 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar over medium heat. Heat until all sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, and add 1/4 cup of honey and 3 heaping tablespoons dried culinary lavender. Cover and let mixture steep for 10-15 minutes. Once finished steeping, strain out the lavender and make sure you get all the syrup out of the lavender buds.

In a pitcher, combine the lavender sugar mixture with the freshly squeezed lemon juice, remaining 4 cups of water, lemon zest and raspberries. Chill in the fridge.

Serve on its own or mixed with a bit of Prosecco for some zip! To be extra cool, serve in a mason jar like the wannabe hipster you are.

Cheers! What is your favourite thirst quencher for the summer?

meet.make.all about friendship.

You may be asking yourself, "What exactly is meet.make.laugh. about?". Good Question!
We try to fill our blog with unique DIY's, scrumptious recipes, and to tie it all together - our fabulous Ladies Nights In! However, take away the delicious treats and the always exciting craft time, this blog really focuses on the theme of friendship. The three of us have so much fun getting together and sharing our crafty adventures with you, whether they work out or not. We realize it can be difficult to schedule around three busy lives to create blog posts (hence why we only post about once a week), and it just wouldn't be the same if we were not doing it all together.

Meet.make.laugh. may revolve around the adventures of Cindy, Hayley and Stephanie but it is also about cultivating new friendships and developing those relationships. We LOVE having people join us for Ladies Nights In and have a great time getting to know them as we craft, eat, and drink the night (sometimes day) away. You too can get to know all the lovely ladies as well, by taking a peek at our Guest Book Page!

Today we are excited to share with you some pictures of our recent girls trip to Seattle, where we were joined by some amazing girlfriends from near and far. You know, the type of friends who no matter how long you may be apart, when you come together it's just the same as where you left off. The I laughed so hard I think I just pee'd my pants, no such thing as awkward silences kind of friends... Robyn, Lindsay, and Jen, it was so awesome that we were all able to meet up with you in Seattle! Thanks for making the trip... we're already counting down to the next ladies night out!

We had SO much fun. Check out our pictures for highlights of our good times. We shopped (a lot), we ate (a lot), we drank (a lot), we watched a burlesque show (encore for ULTRA!!), and basically spent as much time visiting as possible. Jen even managed to catch a fish behind the counter in Pike Place Market. Looking forward to our next girl's weekend away!

How do you like to spend time with your friends?

meet.make.luggage tags.

After our recent introduction to crochet, we decided to attempt a fun project for our upcoming trip to Seattle.... luggage tags!

We used a pattern by Meredith at One Sheepish Girl, who inspired us to create luggage tags of our own. If you have never visited her site, you should seriously check it out. She is probably the cutest person on the planet, and has a ton of great projects!
