We have so many baby projects on the go, and so few we can share with you! (We don't want to ruin any surprises!) I made this hat for my lovely friend Lindsay who is expecting in September, and couldn't wait to give it to her.
Lindsay doesn't yet know if she is having a boy or a girl, so I went for something a bit more gender neutral. I also made a pair of baby booties in the same sea foam green colour to match.
The yarn I used for these projects was Martha Stewart Crafts Merino.... it was so soft! AND I got it on a super sale at Michaels, what a bonus!
Patterns used: (Links to ravelry pattern)
Booties: Crochet wrap around button infant boots
I modified this pattern a tad by doubling the length of the wrap around strap - I wanted it to go all around the foot!
Toque: Baby Stripes Hat
I made a few little changes to this pattern - as I used a smaller yarn and hook, I added an extra increase row. I also did straight double crochet for the brim instead of the stripe pattern.
If you are on Ravelry, I'd love to be your friend and see all the fun stuff you are working on!
I have a little bit of this yarn left over.... any ideas for some tiny infant project to go with my booties and hat?
Oh, these are adorable! Is the hat green and white or green and blush? No matter what, I love it! The baby is going to look so posh =)
ReplyDeleteAww, Stephanie! So adorable! I wish I could do something like this! I am sure your friend will love the hat and the boots!
ReplyDeleteHave you got enough yarn to make scratch mitts?
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
Oh wow, I LOVE that hat! Really nice work! (And I think green is a great choice for gender-neutral baby stuff.) xoxo
