meet.make.ribbon santa ornaments.

Christmas is the perfect time to get your creative mind dancing. So many potential projects to make! Holiday goodies for yourself, friends, and family are always wonderful to create, but we decided this holiday season we wanted to do something for those who maybe needed a little extra cheer this year.

As a nurse, Hayley has the opportunity to participate and lead a monthly support group for some of her clients. When you're ill, the holidays can be a very difficult time to get through. We thought it would be a wonderful idea to provide her attendees with a special reminder that someone is thinking of them this year. Thus the ribbon ornaments were created.

Our Supplies:
  • Clear glass Christmas balls
  • Red ribbon
  • Black ribbon
  • Hot glue
  • Glitter foam paper
  • Fabric paint
We started by removing the tops of the Christmas balls, and filled with red ribbon. Use as much or as little as you like! The sparkly red ribbon looked awesome glittering through the clear ball.

Next hot glue the black ribbon around the ball (for Santa's belt), cut out a belt buckle piece from the glitter foam paper and attach to the ball. We also included the year 2012 on the ornament, and this was written in white fabric paint.

Originally we thought this project was going to take us a little while, but with the Christmas spirit in mind and our assembly line technique, we breezed through this delightful project and are quite pleased with our results!

How are you giving back this Christmas Season?

  4. I adore that you put a little red ribbon inside the ornament. And then you put the little black belt on it and made it so cute!
