meet.make.santa's secret martini.

We wanted to kick off our baking weekend in style this year... what better way to do it then a Christmas-y cocktail?

We wanted a meet.make.laugh. original creation, and since we had experimented with tea-infused cocktails before, we knew that was the way to go! We headed to David's Tea to check out their new Christmas teas, and decided that Santa's Secret tea was perfect for the occassion.

Ingredients:
Gin
Santa's Secret Black Tea from David's Tea
Cranberry Juice
Elderflower Soda (tonic water would also work)
Sugar rim garnish

The night before, add 3 tablespoons of the loose tea into approximately 3 cups of gin (this is what was left in a bottle). Let the tea infuse overnight, and strain tea leaves out in the morning. If you want to do this the day of drinking, increase your amount of tea and strain when it is the desired strength.
In a martini shaker, over ice, add 1-2 shots of tea-infused gin depending on desired strength. Add 1 shot of cranberry juice, and 1 shot of elderflower soda. Shake, shake, shake, and pour into sugar-rimmed martini glass.

We really enjoyed these Christmas martinis... the peppermint of the tea mixed in nicely with the gin for a festive flavour and tasted great with our smorgasbord of canapes and treats.
Enjoy! Please make sure to consume alcohol responsibly over the holiday season, and plan for a safe ride home!

  1. oh tea infused! I always think it's cool that you guys mix up your own drinks. I'm lazy and typically fall right back into the classics. Always good-but where's the fun in that?!
