meet.make.crochet ereader cover.

The more I crochet the more I love it.... I feel like I am cheating on my knitting needles. Shhh...Don't tell. 

This pattern is basic and can be modified to suit your needs! So mix up different yarns, materials and buttons to get a look that works for you. 

Supplies used:

Yarn: Vintage by Berroco, a worsted weight yarn. 

Crochet Hook: US 6

Fabric: This fabric was found in a scrap bin at a local fabric store. It is a bit thicker, almost the texture of felt, which will help protect the eReader. 

Buttons: Two plastic white buttons

Scissors

Tapestry Needle

Needle and Thread 

Crochet Base:

Row 1: Chain 20 (or whatever you need for desired width. You should not have to stretch the final base to make it cover the ereader)

Row 2: DC (Double Crochet) into 2nd chain, DC to end and turn. 

Row 3: Chain 3, DC into 2nd chain, DC to end and turn.

Repeat Row 3 until long enough to cover the ereader with a bit of extra length for a flap.

Liner: 

Cut material so it is just wide enough to cover ereader. Ideally the crochet base will be approximately half an inch wider on each side then the liner. As well, the material should not cover the flap, but just the front and back panels .

Stitch material to crochet base at each end. There is no need to stitch up the sides.

Use yarn (either the same yarn or an accent yarn) to join the front and back of the cover by stitching up the sides. It is easier to do this if you build it around the ereader.

Add the buttons to the front of the reader, ensuring that the buttons will fit through the holes of the crochet pattern on the flap.

All done! I was really happy with how this turned out... and will be making more of these for gifts in the future.
