Time to kick it old school! We're bringing you back to the good ol' days... when all that mattered was where everyone was partying on Friday night. We'll bring the Malibu... you bring the pineapple.

A Mélange of Table Toppers

7:00pm on a Saturday night...what's there to do? Pub? Nah.  Shop Etsy/Beyond the Rack? Next pay day. Fine, how about a Jillian Michaels workout vid? Ha! Not. A. Chance.

Next time you and your friends have fun-block, try crafting up a table topper storm. We promise these creations will keep the night interesting and then some!

To compliment our coaster craft, we each picked a dish that was simple, delish, and could be eaten around your coffee table. First things first - let's get those drinks made and be sure to keep them coming! Silk Road - we love you! These earl green tea gin and tonics are the ultimate girly cocktail and are dangerously addictive. Quite possibly our new summer drink. As we gulped away, we roasted the curried squash, perfected each caprese skewer and meticulously drizzled each crostini with some honey. A satisfying night if you want to stop there...

But it's 9:00pm and our night is just about to get better (come one, cut us 9-5'ers some slack). 

Spice up your living room decor and show off your originality with some homemade coasters. Any excuse to use mod podge, is reason enough. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the fancy new table toppers. Functional, original and cheapy-cheap. Job well done, ladies!

I hope everyone gets to enjoy a green beer today... We sure are! To add a festive touch to our outfits today we made some 4 leaf clovers from this awesome tutorial by Brenna Berger of Paper & Ink. So simple and so quick!

Stephanie's Knit Slouch Hat

My lovely and amazing friend Jen asked me to knit her a slouchy hat, and there is nothing I like more then a knitting project that doesn't take what seems like 10 years. This quick knit took less then two evenings relaxing in front of the TV, even while being on watch for the stealthily sneak of a kitten who finds yarn irresistibly attackable.

This is my first time attempting my own pattern... so all of you avid knitters out there aren't allowed to judge my poor pattern writing skills. So for everyone else 27 going on 60...here it goes:

Materials used: 

1 Ball of Vanna's Choice Yarn in Mustard (or whatever colour suits your fancy)
Size 10 circular needles
Size 10 DPN's for decreasing

Getting Started:
Cast On 64 stitches and join in the round (or any multiple of 8 to fit your head)

Brim: 
K2, P2 all the way round
Repeat until piece measures approx. 1"

Pattern:

Round 1: K all stitches

Round 2: YO, K2Tog, repeat until end of round

Repeat Rounds 1-2 until total piece measures 7-8 inches (depending on just how slouchy you want it to be... or how much of a hipster you are??) 

Decrease: 
Round 1: K all stitches

Round 2: [YO, K2Tog]x3, K2Tog, repeat until end of round

Round 3: K all stitches

Round 4: [YO, K2Tog]x2, YO K3Tog, repeat until end of round

Round 5: K all stitches

Round 6: [YO, K2Tog]x2, K2Tog, repeat until end of round

Round 7: K all stitches

Round 8: YO, K2Tog, YO, K3Tog, repeat until end of round

Round 9: K all stitches

Round 10: YO, K2Togx2, repeat until end of round

Round 11: K all stitches

Round 12: YO, K3Tog, repeat until end of round

Round 13: K all stitches

Round 14: K2Tog, repeat until end of round

Cut yarn and pull through remaining stitches... secure yarn and weave in ends. Voila!

This actually turned out great... time to make myself one! 

Cindy's Mini Snack

Life is like a batch of mini muffins... it’s as good as you make it!

I can never finish a whole muffin to myself... ok I’m lying but you can’t deny the cuteness of the mini size adds to its edible appeal. Yes, you end up eating three, four, five times (who's counting?!) the regular portion but for some reason, your brain tricks you into thinking its guilt free. Well, mine at least! Thank you Google for finding me this tasty treat. For the chocolate lovers out there and to the healthy buffs (there’s some banana in them too), bon ap-petit ;)

P.s. I am not a baker. I just follow directions ok.

After searching various DIY websites, I came across a pattern that peaked my interest.
Let's just keep it simple by saying - I LOVE the Ravelry website. Should you happen to come across an item in a store, think "Ya, I could maybe make that!" Chances are, someone has...and that someone has shared the pattern on the Ravelry website.

Henceforth, the Anthropologie Inspired Braided Headwrap was found.

Supplies I used:
- US Size 10 Needles
- One Cable Needle 
- Loops & Threads Charisma Wool in Taupe
- Buttons

If you are just learning the cable knitting technique, this is the project for you! It was very easy to follow, and I can see myself making a lot more of these head wraps in the future; changing up the wool and needle sizes for different looks! I can safely say, the customer was pleased!

Stephanie's DIY Jewelry Organizer

How to outsmart a kitten:

After too much getting on my hands and knees searching for earrings my kitten pushed off my dresser, I decided I needed a way to keep them out of reach and organized. Surprisingly, my husband Pat came up with this fun project!

Supplies:

• Cork board of any size (Any office supply store has lots!)
• Piece of fabric
• Scissors 
• Hot Glue
• Straight Pins

Steps:

• Cut fabric approximately 3-4 inches wider around then the cork board.
• Lay fabric right side out down on a flat surface, and place cork board upside down in the middle of the fabric.
• Fold fabric edges over and hot glue to the back of the cork board. Make sure to keep the tension to avoid ripples in the material.
• After glue has dried, hang and pin away!

Paintings, pizzas, slurpees – jealous yet? Picture grade school art class remixed with beer. Two words... Blue Shocker! The sunless island winter inspired a summer themed night full of bright everything! From the pizza toppings to the magazine cut-outs and the iceberg bevies, it was the perfect pick-me-up to the winter blues. Ever watch the movie Chicago? Well we tried, but we were having way too much fun as if we were getting paid to create. Take down your art from Winners and have fun doing a painting that requires no actual talent. Need some creative inspiration? 7-11 slurpee mixed beers. It’s a win-win for everyone.

Launch Night.... Ain't No Party Like A West Coast Party!

We kicked off the night by whipping up a batch of some oh-so-delicious white bean dip. Antsy to get our flower-power craft on, we took just a few but large bites and instantly turned into craft mode. Good thing we had good tunes in the background or it would’ve been awkwardly silent for the first bit! Yes, we are that hardcore. What we couldn’t get enough of, was our rendition of the sparkling peach crantini... Morale of the story, vodka always makes it better! The result, an amazing piece of original jewellery, a few burnt fingers and 3 tipsy gals.... success! Can’t wait for the next MML night! This is how we do it...
