meet.make.music: track 7

Getting ready in the a.m. - you bet we are jamming! Driving to and from work - the tunes are cranked. Sitting at work writing emails - the headphones are likely on.

Simply put - we LOVE music and are constantly sharing artists and songs with each other. So we decided to start a weekly music sharing series!

Every week, each of us will pick a song to share with all of you. Sometimes there will be a theme, and sometimes not.

Share our love of music with us and tell us your favorite song each week!
This week's theme: Favourite movie soundtrack

Hayley:
Ummm... can I choose 2? No, 5. Howabout 10? Oh boy, this is a tough-y.
Ill have to agree with Steph (see below). A movie soundtrack really makes a movie for me. A movie with an amazing sound will make me want to watch a movie over and over - just to hear my jam.

An example of this would be the Empire Records Soundtrack. This is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies, and the soundtrack does not disapoint. From the Gin Blossoms to AC/DC, it is a MUST. 'Sugar High' is heard towards the end of the movie during the Record Store fundraiser, and always makes me want to jump up and dance!

Cindy:
It's an oldie but goldie - Adventures in Babysitting! Being an 80's child, the movie and the music brings me back to being a kid. My sister was my babysitter and so the songs remind me of our antics growing up.

This song in particular isn't my overall favorite from the soundtrack (it's "Then He Kissed Me" of course!) but my husband and I recently saw it performed on X-Factor (yes, I am sucker for all the singing competition shows) and the contestant did the song justice. Now my husband sings it all the time and i can't get it out of my head :)

Steph: This is a tough one..... there are a lot of pretty amazing movie soundtracks. For me, a soundtrack can make or break a movie, or even give it a whole different spin.(A Knight's Tale anyone?)

This isn't one of my most watched movies (though it is still pretty good!), but I LOVE the soundtrack from Stand By Me. It reminds me of being out at my grandparents cottage when I was little. Though the title track is pretty iconic, my top pick from the list is definitely Everyday by Buddy Holly. Enjoy!

  1. Hmm... that's a tough one. I think I am split between I Am Sam and Juno. Both have awesome soundtracks!

  2. I feel the same way about Sugar High in Empire Records! I laughed a little when I read that.

  3. By favourite soundtrack song is Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. Never seen the film it's from but the song has a special place in my heart.
