meet.make.wedding: Cindy and Josh

In honour of Hayley's upcoming wedding, we will be doing spotlight's on some past weddings we have attended. Most of these weddings happened pre-Pinterest... so we wanted to showcase some of the DIY's and unique features that the bride's (and groom's!) came up with all on their own. 

The couple: Cindy and Josh married on September 3, 2011 (Happy 1st Anniversary to us!!!)

Highlight 1: The invitation turned guestbook frame and thank you cards

We designed our invitations with the help of a friend and then had Michael's custom size a signing board frame to use for our guestbook. We also used our group photo for our postcard thank you's. They turned out great for a great price. 

Highlight 2: The food

My Chef husband gets the kudos for making the small snacks during the wine tasting, the main entrees, and the cupcakes! I'm a lucky gal, I know!

With the help of some friends also in the culinary industry, we served a custom buffet menu that left us all full yet wanting more. In keeping with my Filipino roots, we also had a pig roast to mark the occasion. Our lovely and delicious cake was made by our dear friend Danielle which we saved for our one year anniversary!

Highlight 3: The wedding favor

My aunt from the Philippines graciously organized the crafting of our wedding favors. We knew it was going to be a hot hot day and me wanting to showcase my heritage in the small details, we thought embroidered fans would be the perfect give away.  

And we lived happily ever after...

Even though our wedding was before we discovered the wonderful world of pinterest, we are more than happy with how it all turned out, and wouldn't change a single thing!
