Countdown to Christmas!

We are starting to get excited for the holidays around here.... it is hard to believe it is just over a month away! We are hoping to get some group crafting and baking in around here soon.

To get in the Christmas spirit Stephanie made a little snowman from this pattern Sarah from Repeat Crafter Me posted a few weeks ago. It was a quick little project and will make a great addition to a Christmas gift!

And just in case you were wondering....

What are you doing to get in the Christmas spirit?

meet.make.crochet moose.

Crafting and crocheting has been quiet in these parts as of late.... somehow life always steps up and gets in the way! Hopefully we will get back in the swing of things soon, just in time for Christmas!

I knew I wanted to make a crochet animal for my friend Lindsay's little boy Jack, but was having trouble deciding on a pattern. When I came across the book This Moose Belongs To Me by Oliver Jeffers I knew I had to get it for Jack and make a moose to go with it!

meet.make.crochet bride luggage tag.

Crochet bride luggage tag free pattern

Today I have a fun little pattern to share with you! One of my closest friends recently got engaged, and decided she is going to have a destination wedding in Mexico. I wanted to send her a little something to commemorate the occasion, so I decided to make a luggage tag that she could attach to her wedding dress bag when she goes on the plane!

meet.make.baby blankets: part 5

So planning for my next baby blanket, I knew I didn't want to make anything too girly or boyish..

Whoa. Wait a second.. can you believe we're already at PART 5 of the blanket series??? Like I said, this was the season for baby blankets.

The baby crafting continues....

Over the past while I have made a few new crocheted baby hats. I tried some different patterns, and loved them both! Will definitely be making them again.

meet.make.crochet-along: round ripple baby blanket.

Crochet round ripple baby blanket

With all the baby blanket making going on in these parts, how fitting was it for Alicia to choose a baby blanket for September's crochet-along project! I have been eyeing this pattern for awhile, so it was perfect timing.

meet.make.giraffe amigurumi.

Jerry the Giraffe crochet amigurumi

So I accomplished a big milestone..... I finished my first amigurumi! I'm so very excited how he turned out. I think I may be addicted now, I can't wait to make more! It helps that I bought a big bag of polyfil too so I need to use it all up.

meet.make.baby blankets: part 4

Oh, hello again! Is this another addition to our baby blanket series you ask? Why yes it is!! I've got another one to share with you today. And while you're here, why not have a peak at my granny square blanket, and Steph's additions here and here!!
I think it is fair to say this was definitely the season on baby blankets. So for your enjoyment, here's the blanket I made for Cindy and baby Nell! Ps. Could she BE any cuter? :)

meet.make.crochet puppy hat.

Crochet puppy hat

Are you sick of all our crochet posts yet? I hope not.... because there are still more to come! We do have some other stuff lined up too though, so stay tuned!

I made this hat for baby Jack, who also received the blanket here. My friend Lindsay is a big dog lover; their dog Levi is an integral part of their family. So when I decided to make a character hat I knew a puppy would be my choice.

meet.make.crochet sleepy owl hat.

So I received a 'not so subtle' hint from our friend Lindsay prior to the birth of her adorable baby Jack. The message went a little like "look at this hat! Isn't it so cute!"... Hmmm... I take this as "maybe you could make this for me?"
CHALLENGE (delightfully) ACCEPTED!

#sheepishbloomdrop

I woke up this morning, and realized I had totally forgotten about the sheepish bloom drop planned for this weekend by Meredith over at One Sheepish Girl! Whoops! So I quickly decided to crochet up a flower and go find a home for it....

meet.make.baby blankets: part 3

It's time for another baby blanket post! You can find part one here and part two here. Can I just throw out how difficult it is to get good pictures of blankets for the ol' blog here? We have had a heck of a time taking photos that showcase the blankets! If anyone has any tips we would love to hear them!

I made this blanket for the lovely Lindsay, one of my nearest and dearest friends. (She was my maid of honor at my wedding) I started this blanket prior to her giving birth, but the baby had plans of his own and came 3 weeks early. Jack Andrew was born a few weeks ago, and he is the cutest!! I had to frantically work away to get it done in time to give to her.

meet.make.baby blankets: part 2

As we've probably mentioned more than once.. there has been many new additions to the world lately, including my new baby niece Rose! I had previously made my first knit baby blanket for her brother Luke when he was born, so of course I had to keep the tradition afloat! So here comes another addition to our baby blanket series!

The baby crafting continues: pom pom toque.

When my coworker told me she was expecting in the fall, I decided I needed a quick baby craft to whip up for her!
I really love making baby hats. They're fast, creative, and just oh so teenytiny and cute!

When searching for a project, I came across Sara's merry messy life blog and her pattern for a baby pom pom hat.
The mama doesn't want to learn the gender of her lil'sprout, so I decided to use some 'earthy tones' for the project. I think it turned out really well!

meet.make.crochet-along: hexagon table runners.

Amidst all the baby crocheting, the two of us decided we wanted take a little break to work on Alicia's August crochet-along project. The hexagon table runner seemed like a great stash buster, and the hexagons didn't seem like they would be taxing to whip up quickly.

meet.make.baby blankets: part 1

Between Hayley and I, I think we have 4-5 completed baby blankets to share with you! There have been so many babies lately, that we have barely been keeping up with all the crocheting! Be warned.... meet.make.laugh. might get a little crochet heavy over the next little while!

So as we mentioned, Cindy gave birth to a beautiful baby girl a couple weeks ago. We can't wait to share pictures of Nell with you (she's SO CUTE), but until then you need to be satisfied with pictures of the baby blanket I made for her!

meet.make.crochet-along: watermelon coasters

Crochet Watermelon Coasters

It has been awhile since one of us has participated in Alicia's crochet-along, and so this month I was definitely ready to join in! I needed a little break from the baby crocheting and my big afghan and this was the perfect excuse.

The link-up is over at More Than.... by Muriel Mohns, and one of the options was watermelon coasters, which I have been wanting to make for awhile!

meet.make.granny ripple afghan.

The project that felt like it would never end has finally been completed! I decided months ago that I wanted to make an afghan for my brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law as a wedding gift, and it is finally done. I even had a couple weeks to spare. I'm really happy with the finished product, but I think I'm even more happy that I don't have to work on it anymore. ;) Time to move onto some quick gratifying projects!

The baby crafting continues.... crochet monster hat

Crochet Baby Monster Hat with earflaps

I completed another baby hat recently.... a lil' monster hat! This one is going to my lovely friend Stephanie (yes another Stephanie) who is due this month. She doesn't yet know if it is a boy or a girl but I think the lil' monster will work for either!
