Jerry the Giraffe crochet amigurumi

So I accomplished a big milestone..... I finished my first amigurumi! I'm so very excited how he turned out. I think I may be addicted now, I can't wait to make more! It helps that I bought a big bag of polyfil too so I need to use it all up.

My cousin Aryn is having a baby in October, and my other cousin is decorating the nursery in a grey and yellow theme. I wanted to contribute something, so after searching around ravelry I decided to purchase the Grant the Giraffe pattern I found on Ravelry.

This was a great pattern, easy to follow even for a beginner like me. Though I like the name Grant, I wanted to give him a different name..... and decided on Jerry. Jerry the giraffe, it has a nice ring to it don't you think?

I love how he has moveable legs, and can be positioned different ways. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn which makes him pretty squeezable too!

Time to get started on another amigurumi! I think I need to make one for Nell....

  2. Your little giraffe is adorable! My son carries around and sleeps with a giraffe that my daughter gave him the day he was born. He calls it "vava" because he couldn't say giraffe when he named it. :0 It looks a lot like your, but his is from Target! Yours is so much more personal!! Thanks for sharing on our link party!

  4. This is so great - your cutest crochet project yet! I love the amigurumi things - there are so many funny and cute ideas out there! When the kids are older, how about crochet food? That must be great to play with for tea parties and shopping etc.

  5. Awesome! I knitted an elephant for my niece a couple years ago and it was super challenging but also super rewarding. =) Oh, and Jerry seems like a great name for a giraffe! xoxo
