meet.make.sandals.

Over on Her New Leaf, Kira started a new project called myDIY:

myDIY is a collaborative online crafting party designed to inspire creative thought and interpretation. Each month, a material or topic will be posted along with several bloggers’ interpretations of the idea.

This month's theme was flip flops, and as it is a project we have been thinking of tackling for awhile, we decided to join in! We went out and bought some sandals (couldn't find flip flops we all liked....but close enough right?) pulled together a little Ladies Night-in, and tried to get those creative juices flowing.

We made a quick trip to the mall, and managed to find sandals and supplies for under $30... for all three of us! We did use some supplies we already had, so remember to keep those left over craft scraps because you never know when or how they'll come in handy.

The sandals we bought had these ugly pom poms on them, so those came off quickly! Cindy's white sandals looked like they were topped with a bunch of deflated balloons.

Steph's supplies:
Lace leftover from making Lace Jewelry
A cheap teal leather belt
Hot glue
Scissors

Cindy's supplies:
Gold braided cord
Leftover fabric from making Flower Necklaces
Hot glue
Scissors

Hayley's supplies:
$2.50 earrings that I tore apart piece by piece
Felt (that wasn't flimsy) leftover from making Flower Necklaces
Hot glue
Scissors

Here's the end results:

While we were being crafty, we enjoyed some amazing delicious fig, brie and prosciutto bites, along with another drink and scrumptious snack that we will be sharing with you soon!

Thanks to myDIY for inspiring our ladies night in! It was really a fun project to make and we love how we could change the same pair of sandals to reflect our own personalities.
