meet.make.music: track 3

Getting ready in the a.m. - you bet we are jamming! Driving to and from work - the tunes are cranked. Sitting at work writing emails - the headphones are likely on.

Simply put - we LOVE music and are constantly sharing artists and songs with each other. So we decided to start a weekly music sharing series!

Every week, each of us will pick a song to share with all of you. Sometimes there will be a theme, and sometimes not.

Share our love of music with us and tell us your favorite song each week!

This week's theme: Ode to Summer

In honour of our summer sadly coming to an end, we thought we would share with you our favourite summer jams!

Hayley:
Fan-Flippin-Tastic song! This mix of hard hitting funk and the grace of a gospel choir sound can really get that sunshine a'shining. This british group ooozes with "cool" and is definitely one to check out.

Cindy:
Summer is not summer for me without breaking out the Bob Marley tunes... I look forward to the season of Marley every year!

I usually need to blast the pop/techno/90's dance music when I hit the pavement but when it's summertime, nothing's better than listening to "Could You be Loved" while running oceanfront. I can't help but picture myself sitting on a beach, soaking up some sun, and drinking a cerveza... Makes running feel less like work!

Steph:
This was definitely my jam for the summer.... a big thanks to my lovely friend Jen who introduced me to this one! I am definitely not a huge Rihanna fan...  but this cover of "We Found Love" makes me want to go cruise around town with the windows down and the ocean breeze blowing in my hair. (Because that is what the cool kids do, not that I am that cool, or a kid)

What was your song of the summer?

  1. Great songs!
I am so in love with the new Minus The Bear album. It is wonderful. My favorite song is "Empty party rooms". Not really a summer song but I can't get enough.

  2. Main jam for the summer?! I don't know. Probably Somebody that I Used to Know, even if that is cliche. I prefer the Walk off the Earth version, though.
